I left the lodge at 4 AM and headed back to the "Sunrise Highway", hoping to make it by sunrise. This is the Desert
View lookout about 5:30 Saturday morning. It was much better in person.

This is my entry for the Harley-Davidson postcard. After shooting the pine tree sunrise picture, I turned around to the scoot'
and snapped this picture in the early morning sunlight.

It was still early on Saturday, and the bike didn't have to be back until noon, so I went across the mountains into the desert.
The little towns were Ocotillo Wells and Borrego Springs. I gassed up again and motored back through the mountains
again. I have a few more pictures of the mountain roads in the camera to be developed.

A very obscure highway marker in the middle of nowhere, commerating the Mexican army march across this part of the desert
in 1800 something.

Okay, this is why I look like a geek in this picture. I set the camera on a rock across the highway, and ran back to get
into the picture. I am wearing the jacket because it was only about 7:30 am, it got really cool on the mountain roads that
morning, and my arms were sunburned from the ride on Friday. It was a combination of trying to stay warm on the ride down,
and keep by arms from burning up once I got into the desert.
